and you shouldn't feel bad about turning down the difficulty to get past them. I'm not even sure it's mathematically possible to beat the 2nd escort mission (mining guild transport) on Captain difficulty. Halfway through, I turned the difficulty all the way down to "visual novel" and the Sunrider was still getting pounded for over 1300 damage per turn in addition to half a dozen enemy support mechs reducing all my ships' energy to 50%, meaning the transport was reduced to moving 1 space a turn and Claude didn't have enough to both cast Restore AND keep up with it. I'm not sure if beating that mission on Captain difficulty is possible even if you fire the Vanguard cannon every turn. In fact, even the game makers admit the escort missions are B.S. After the mission, all the characters gather on the bridge to complain how frustrating escort missions are, that the unlimited reinforcements are ridiculous, and that you should never take another escort mission agian.Kryska is the most intriguing of the cast, because she doesn't look like any Stock Romanceable Option to me, and in fact as far as I've seen the game makes no effort to suggest she's an option at all. Instead, her entire thing is that she's a consummate soldier, which leads to her clashing with Icari because Icari is much more of a lone wolf sort of individual, not to mention was originally outright a mercenary. She's also one of the funnier characters in the game, surprisingly, in that her behavior and lines border into the ridiculous with no sense of self-awareness on her part: her voiced/combat dialogue involves a lot of stuff like saying 'weaponized diplomacy was successful' when she lands a shot, and while her non-combat dialogue tends to be less overtly weird she still sticks stringently to Proper Military Behavior Ten-Hut Sir! Which is a fairly stark contrast with everyone else even Ava tends to be somewhat informal in how she executes her job and all, let alone the wackiness of Asaga, Claude, etc. Her actual plot contribution is, uh, nearly nonexistent. She gets assigned to your crew, you're allowed to be suspicious of her as a spy for the foreign military that provided her, Ava goes digging and determines her service record is probably falsified and concludes that she's some elite commando, and when you catch her in the act of trying to steal technical information on the Sunrider it's time to either throw her into the brig or say you trust her. and then this gets interrupted by an attack and if, as I did, you went with 'throw her in the brig' it doesn't end up mattering. She launches for the fight and the player character automatically decides to extend trust to her afterward with zero input from the player.Īnd that's it. She doesn't act as your connection with the Solar Alliance or anything, her part in the plot is over and it's just time for her to be one of your Ryder pilots. Hella alot of times.Okay, that's not strictly true, in that she acts as your escort in a later sequence and gets captured with you and blah blah blah, but she could've been literally any random Solar Alliance officer and it wouldn't change anything. You WILL have to savescum for this mission. This is one mission you will NOT be able to do legitly. You must get to the other side either ON turn 8 or before. What's important is you keep a mental note of the turn. More units will warp in, but it shouldn't be that tough. Do not place the Decensor Patch folder into the game folder, only the two files. Move the two files to the game folder where Steam installed Sunrider. Go to properties 3/ Go to the local files tab 4. I was able to line them up and wipe out 6 of them with a Vanguard. Right click on Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius on Steam 2. Frigate > PACT Bombers > 2nd PACT BB > CruiserĪt this point, the grunts were all bunched together. You want to focus down the DPS units in this order. Use lasers to bring down the PACT frigate. 'Rescue Diplomats' is the fourth main mission in Sunrider.Arriving for the Alliance task, the Sunrider warped into a recon squad from PACT. Once it's gone, the entire upper group of PACT units will no longer have shields. Hit it with machine guns from Asaga and Icari and it should be dead. 2 rockets will bring it down to 136 or so HP. PACT BBs will launch 1,000 damage rockets at you so you better get rid of one of them. What you want to do here is focus down 1 of the BBs immediately. Mark 3 Energy Reactor (preferably mark 4)Īs well as 2 rockets and the liberty repair boost from the store. Mark 3 Energy Cost (You only need mark 2 for this. I played this mission specifically well over 40 times. I replayed the game 4 times for this mission. Probably harder than the last mission in Liberation Day. This was one of the hardest missions I've ever faced.
